Cornucopia was founded by Alex and Shreya with the goal of onboarding qualified contributors into the crypto space by matching them with DAOs. Despite the permissionless nature of crypto, it is often hard for outsiders to find meaningful work or establish relationships with preeminent DAOs and projects, turning participation and advancement into an insiders game. We aim to change this with Cornucopia.

A decentralized dispute mechanism is essential in ensuring that freelancers are fairly compensated for their work and that their work is high caliber. UMA's Optimistic Oracle powers Cornucopia's disputes, where UMA token holders vote on the whether the hunter fulfilled the bounty specifications, leading to 1 of 3 outcomes: the freelancer did the work, it is unclear if they did the work, or the freelancer did not do the work. UMA uses shelling point voting, where the outcome that the majority of holders voted for is considered correct. Voting is done via a commit-reveal scheme to prevent collusion, where each holder's votes are tallied in private, and are then revealed at the end of the voting period. Those who voted for the correct (the majority) outcome are rewarded with UMA tokens. Please see UMA's docs for more information.
